

To fix, I would put my cursor in the existing list, then use the drop-down menu icon that looks like a 1, a, i. This is geared toward an older version of Word, but it will explain what's going on. so it much be something in this document that I haven't figured out. If I create a new document, the bullet list works normally.

This was already clicked for me and I did try unclicking and then re-clicking. The only common 'fix' I potentially found was to make sure that in the options, under 'auto-correct as you type' to make sure that the option "Set Left and first indent with tabs and backspaces' is clicked. The official Microsoft support forums are about as useful with cut and paste generic responses.
